Our journey and passion for childcare

Hello, I'm Lucy, the founder of Tiny Toadstools Childminding. With my three young children, Alillya (7), Alfie-Jay (6), and Awnie (2), I understand the importance of quality childcare. My lifelong passion for working with children and building strong bonds has driven me to create a nurturing space for your little ones.

For the past six years, I've coached gymnastics for children aged 18 months to 16 years, and before that, I worked as a lifeguard. My experience also extends to elderly care, where I supported residents with diverse needs. Now, as my family grows, I feel it's the perfect time to fulfil my dream of running my own childminding setting here in Bristol, offering a truly special and personal approach to care.

A day of fun and learning

At Tiny Toadstools, we aim to create a welcoming and fun home-from-home experience. I know firsthand how daunting new environments can be for both children and parents. To help them settle in, I like to let the children take the lead on how the day begins.

A typical day with us often includes playtime in our dedicated play corner, adventures in the garden with various toys, and even exploring the plants and wildlife out front. We also have a cosy calm corner for those moments when we need to relax and unwind. Every day is an opportunity for discovery and joy!

Learning and growing in a familiar setting

Our mission is to make children feel as comfortable and at home as possible. We encourage them to engage in activities they would typically enjoy in their own homes, fostering a sense of familiarity and security.We embrace diversity and ensure equal opportunities for all children. 

Through play and exploration, we support their development, helping them learn new skills in a natural, unpressured environment. Whether it's imaginative play, outdoor adventures, or quiet time for stories, every moment contributes to their growth and happiness at Tiny Toadstools Childminding.
