Childminding agencies like Tiney were introduced by the Government to offer childminders additional support and services that are not available when registering directly with Ofsted. While tiney's registered childminders operate as independent, self-employed businesses, they benefit from comprehensive support, tools, and ongoing coaching to help them thrive. As a childminder, Tiney acts as a regulator, a business partner, and a cheerleader. Their inspections and quality bar are set to the same high standards as Ofsted, but all interactions are with the friendly Tiney team.
What makes Tiney special?
Just like schools and nurseries, Childminding Agencies (CMAs) are regularly inspected and quality assured by Ofsted. Tiney was recently inspected in 2024, receiving Ofsted’s highest grading and a glowing report. Ofsted noted: “Tiney’s senior management team have a clear vision for the childminding agency.” The innovative Tiney app “allows childminders to focus more on the children in their care” and “provides childminders with an effective and easy system to support the daily organisation of their businesses.” In education and care, “Childminders are provided with support to help them meet the care and learning of all their minded children.” The comprehensive training programmes, Inset Days, and CPD opportunities were praised for “enhancing the skills and knowledge of their childminders.”
